Mrs. R's Communications Class
This is an experiment and lesson in computer mediated communication in the classroom. Students must strive to use standard English, avoid textspeak, and typos as much as possible. By proofreading before posting, these goals can be attained. Everything posted must be appropriate and related to classroom topics. Please take this opportunity to generate thoughtful discussion by posting a topic, comment, or both.
Greetings
Communications is reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
In this ever-changing technological age it only seems natural that we learn to effectively communicate using technology.
Because there is no emotion, facial expressions, or other clues to interpret messages, the writing alone must convey the message.
This blog is a trial class project. Students must login and create a user name before posting. Be sure to read the terms of service agreement. Posts must be appropriate and must not be offensive to anyone in the class. Disagreeing with someone's opinion is fine, attacking the person is not. Remember to separate the issue from the person. Also, we've discussed positive ways of offering constructive criticism; please utilize them.
I look forward to class discussion. Stay tuned.
